What is a real estate seller report?

A real estate seller report is a recurring written update that a listing agent sends to a home seller covering portal views (Zillow, Realtor.com, Redfin), showing activity and feedback, comparable market data, marketing activity, and an AI-powered summary. It keeps sellers informed weekly so they never have to ask 'what is happening with my listing?'

How often should I send seller reports?

Weekly is the standard. A weekly cadence is frequent enough that the seller never has to ask for an update, and sustainable enough to maintain from list date to close. Pick the same day every week and treat it like a closing appointment. Even during slow weeks with no showings, send the update: report the data, explain what it means, and outline your next move.

What should a seller report include?

A complete seller report includes five sections: portal traffic (views and saves from Zillow, Realtor.com, Homes.com), showing activity and feedback, market movement (new comps, price changes, pendings), your marketing activity for the week, and a plain-language summary. The summary is the part sellers actually read first, so write it like a text to a friend, not a market report.

Are automated seller reports better than manual ones?

Automated seller reports save 1 to several hours per listing per week, which is what allows agents to keep the weekly promise at pipeline scale. Tools like Beacon build the complete report from one listing address automatically and keep it updated weekly. The best approach combines automation for data gathering with your personal commentary so the update stays authentic.

Can I send seller reports without MLS access to ListTrac?

Yes. Beacon requires no MLS participation. You enter a listing address and Beacon automatically pulls portal view data from Zillow, Realtor.com, Redfin, and Homes.com, generates market comps, and creates your report. It works for any agent in any market nationwide, regardless of which MLS they use.
